Visiting The Cat House
To ensure that those who are seriously interested in adopting can spend time with the cats, priority is given to visitors who have submitted an adoption application, whether or not they have been interviewed and approved to adopt. If you’re interested in adoption, please see our “adopt” page.
We continue to accept donations and to offer claw-clipping services to our alumni.

Give to Lincoln Day
Give to Lincoln Day is Wednesday, May 24th! Donations made HERE through the end of the day May 24th are eligible for a proportionate share of a $500,000 challenge match fund! This community-wide giving day has been The Cat House’s biggest fundraiser every year; we rely on this to continue to provide care for cats and kittens in our shelter and foster homes, and to spay/neuter feral cats through our trap-neuter-return program. Please give generously so we can continue to help cats and kittens in need!
Schedule your donation today to help cats and kittens from Lincoln and the surrounding area!
Ways to Help
WE BELIEVE THAT CATS OF EVERY AGE, HEALTH CONDITION, AND TEMPERAMENT DESERVE A LOVING HOME. PLEASE HELP US WITH THIS MISSION.
DONATE
The Cat House is funded by donations and adoption fees. Adoption fees don’t even cover our vet bills, so we rely on donations to keep our doors open.
VOLUNTEER
The Cat House is staffed and managed by volunteers. With a wide variety of tasks available, there’s sure to be something that interests you and will suit your schedule.
SHOP AND DINE
You can help The Cat House at no cost to yourself, while doing things you do every day – shop, dine, and search.
WISH LIST
It takes a lot of supplies and equipment to care for the 150+ cats and kittens in our adoption and shelter facility and foster homes. See a list of some of them on our wish list.
Donations Needed
Inflation and supply chain issues are impacting The Cat House, along with everyone. Wet/canned food has been especially difficult to obtain. Cat litter (unscented, non-clumping) has also been hard to find at times. All donations are welcome, whether supplies or financial! Click the link below to see different ways you can help the cats. Thanks for your support!
Trap-Neuter-Return
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a humane method of population control to reduce the number of feral cats in the environment and improve the lives of existing cats and their human neighbors . It is a comprehensive, ongoing program in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians.
