We come from many places…
We come from many places, from many situations. Some of us were abandoned outdoors, some were surrendered by people who could no longer care for us. Some of us lived with one family forever, until our person passed away. Some of us have never had a human family of our own. We all share something special; we have touched the hearts of all who knew, know, and will come to know and love us. And we all want forever homes with humans who will love and cherish us.
Due to COVID-19-related directives, visitors to our adoption facility during public hours (Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 – 8 and Sunday afternoons from 1:30 – 4) will be limited to those with approved adoption applications. In order to limit the number of people in our shelter, some visitors may be asked to wait in their cars until other visitors have exited. Thanks for your understanding, and for helping to keep everyone safe.
We continue to accept adoption applications, so if you’re interested in adopting, go ahead and submit an application and a volunteer will call to interview you. However, we have received so many adoption applications lately that adoption counselor volunteers can’t keep up, a good problem to have! Volunteers are working as quickly as possible, around their paying-job and family commitments, but response times have been delayed. We appreciate your patience.
Our Adoption Fees
Each Cat House cat or kitten has been spayed or neutered, tested for feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus, microchipped, and vaccinated against rabies and distemper/upper respiratory viruses.
Our adoption fees are:
- Adult cats, age eight months through six years: $80
- Mature cats, age seven years or older: $60
- Kittens, under eight months: $100
- The adoption fee is reduced to $60 for cats or kittens of any age if you are age 60 or older. If you adopt a second cat or kitten within three months, the fee is half of the usual amount. We limit adoptions to within a 200-mile radius of Lincoln in most cases.
